site engineer

Tarkwa, Western Region · Full-time · Site-based

KAMIT Services & Supplies Ltd. is looking for a Site Engineer to lead civil works on active mining and industrial sites in and around Tarkwa. You’ll take projects from setting-out to handover. That means supervising crews, keeping work to drawings and specification, and making sure every task is done safely.

What you’ll do

  • Supervise civil and structural works on site, including foundations, concrete, steelwork support, drainage, roads and building works.
  • Set out works from drawings, check levels and dimensions, and keep accurate site records.
  • Plan daily and weekly activities with the Project Manager, and keep work on programme.
  • Lead toolbox talks, and enforce KAMIT’s HSE procedures, permits to work and PPE requirements.
  • Inspect materials and workmanship, carry out quality checks, and close out any non-conformances.
  • Measure completed work, prepare progress reports, and support valuations and variations.
  • Work closely with client representatives, consultants and subcontractors on site.
  • Coordinate with our fabrication, scaffolding and coatings teams on multi-discipline jobs.

What you’ll need

  • A BSc or HND in Civil Engineering.
  • At least [3] years of site experience, ideally in mining, industrial or heavy civil construction.
  • Good working knowledge of reading drawings, setting-out, concrete works and site supervision.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Project (or similar), plus Excel for quantities and reporting.
  • A solid understanding of construction safety. A recognised HSE certificate is an advantage.
  • Membership of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), or progress towards it, is an advantage.
  • A valid Ghanaian driving licence.
  • Willingness to work on remote sites and to rotate shifts when projects need it.

What we offer

  • A competitive salary, based on experience.
  • Site allowances, PPE and transport to site.
  • Hands-on experience on major mining and industrial projects in the Western Region.
  • Support for professional development and GhIE registration.
