What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain an approved supplier list, and evaluate supplier performance regularly.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms and delivery schedules with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Work with project managers, site engineers and the stores team to plan material needs against project programmes.
  • Track open orders and expedite urgent deliveries so site work is not delayed.
  • Check that materials, PPE and consumables meet specification, client requirements and HSE standards.
  • Coordinate with stores on receiving, inspection and stock levels, and help reduce excess and obsolete stock.
  • Keep accurate procurement records and prepare monthly spend and supplier reports for management.
  • Make sure all purchases follow KAMIT’s procurement policy, approval limits and anti-bribery standards.
  • Supervise and guide procurement and stores assistants.

What you’ll need

  • A degree or HND in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration or a related field.
  • At least [4] years of procurement experience, including [2] years in a supervisory role, ideally in mining, construction or industrial services.
  • Membership of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or the Ghana Institute of Procurement and Supply (GIPS), or working towards it, is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of local and international suppliers of construction materials, steel, industrial consumables and equipment spares.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Experience with an ERP or inventory system, and good working knowledge of Excel.
  • Understanding of import procedures, customs clearance and logistics is an advantage.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure with tight project deadlines.
  • A valid Ghanaian driving licence.

What we offer

  • A competitive salary, based on experience.
  • Health and safety training, and the PPE needed for site visits.
  • Exposure to major mining and industrial projects in the Western Region.
